Birth Control Gets a New Form
A new study has found that
rubbing as little as three milligrams of a special gel may have the same effect
on women that use oral contraceptives.
The Pill is used by over 10
million American women, however, this simple gel which can be applied to the abdomen,
thighs, arms, and shoulders, releases the same hormone that prevents ovulation.
The gel is quickly absorbed and is free if any side effects.
18 women were tested with the
gel, all in which did not become pregnant, gain weight, or receive aches and
pains that are familiar with taking the Pill. Authorities and researchers explained that,
although the gel is absorbed, it does not interfere with a woman’s milk supply,
allowing even nursing mothers to use the gel. The product may be on the market
in as little as five years.
